Ingredients

FOR THE FILLING
200gr pitted medjool dates
20gr melted odourless coconut oil
2 tsp cacao powder if you want to make them raw, you have to use cocoa powder (raw)
1/5 tsp vanilla bean powder
pinch sea salt
FOR THE CHOCOLATE COATING
60gr melted odourless coconut oil
35gr cacao powder
40gr agave syrup
goji berries, cashews, pumpkin seeds, cacao nibs or other ingredients of your choice for decoration

Steps

1
Done

Blend the dates and the coconut oil first.

2
Done

Add the cacao powder and vanilla and blend again till you get a thick paste, like dough.

3
Done

Place the dough on a piece of parchment paper, cover it with one more piece of parchment paper and use a rolling pin to spread the dough, so that it is about 3 ml in high. Remove the top paper and sprinkle a small pinch of salt here and there. Place the second paper on top again and press it so you are sure the salt will be combined.

4
Done

Place the dough in the freezer for 15 mins.

5
Done

Take the dough out and cut the shapes you want. Place them back in the freezer for another 10 mins.

6
Done

In the meanwhile, prepare your chocolate by combining the coconut oil and cacao powder first and then adding the agave syrup. Use a whisker and just mix them by hand in a bowl.

7
Done

Take the dough pieces out of the freezer and dip them in the chocolate sauce! Wait till the chocolate hardens and dip them one more time... or even a third time! Make the chocolate coating as thick as you like. This amount is good for dipping them twice.

8
Done

The last time you dip the chocolates, don't wait for it to harden completely, but put your seeds and decorations on top so they will "stick". I chose goji berries, cashews and pumpkin seeds, but you can go with the ingredients of your choice.

9
Done

Keep them in the fridge, the can last... forever!

Extra Tips

  • You can melt chocolate and cover your thins, but I prefer to make my won in order to avoid artificial additives and preservatives.
